The weather continues to play havoc with the fixtures leaving another five games to be rescheduled after today’s postponements.

The three games which did get off the ground saw new leaders again as HUCKNALL TOWN took over at the top following their 3-1 home win over SHERWOOD COLLIERY which drew a bumper crowd of 251 to Watnall Road. Joe Ashurst broke the deadlock in favour of the home side 29 minutes in and Sam Sims doubled the lead in the minutes running up to the half time interval. Jordan Phillips added a third two minutes into the second half and although Keenan Leeds pulled one back for Colliery midway through the half they couldn’t get any closer and thus suffered their first away league defeat of the season.

HEANOR TOWN’s brief stay at the pinnacle was over despite the pitch being given the all clear at a 10.30am inspection, the match referee called the game off 45 minutes prior to kick off.

Also taking advantage of this postponement were DUNKIRK. The Boatmen, and that does seem rather apt and appropriate during this inclement weather, saw off visiting CLIPSTONE thanks to a Lewis Wilcox goal just before the half hour mark.

The only other game to beat the weather was at BORROWASH VICTORIA where the home side suffered their 14 th successive league defeat as CLIFTON ALL WHITES returned home with all three points. Jack Reid scored for the visitors after just five minutes, his goal being the only one of the first half. Sam Ilesanmi made it two five minutes into the second half. Things began to look better for the Vics when Nathan Bennett reduced the deficit on 57 minutes, but try as they might they couldn’t manage their first point of the season.
