Midweek 12/13 November
All but one of the planned midweek games got under way and there was something by way of a surprise on Tuesday as RAINWORTH MINERS WELFARE came back from the dead to defeat EASTWOOD COMMUNITY. Ross Parker and Joe Harrison had given the Red Badgers the perfect two goal start inside the first 14 minutes. It took a further 48 minutes for the Wrens to start their recovery through Adeleye Blessing goal on 62. Then came the sting in the tail with Charlie Hancock restoring parity with five minutes left and Connor Wright hitting the home side’s winner just before the end.

Wednesday saw a change of leadership as HEANOR TOWN went top with a 3-1 win over visiting GRAHAM STREET PRIMS. The half hour mark seemed to prove Prims worst fears as Kyle Daley’s goal first of all gave the Lions the lead, then he netted a second four minutes later and Jamie Sleigh weighed in with a third on 37 minutes. However, Perry McGrath’s consolation goal for the visitors on 62 minutes was the best of the game.

INGLES did themselves a power of good as well with a 5-1 home win over BELPER UNITED with Kyle Fowkes scoring a brace, his second from the penalty spot, Billy Blackshaw and Daniel Bryans scoring the others goals as well an own goal. James Rushby got United’s goal.

BORROWASH VICTORIA’s exit from the Derbyshire FA Senior Challenge Cup at the Third Round stage was hardly a surprise considering that the visitors to Spondon were Northern Premier League Premier Division Matlock Town, and the Vics still looking for their first points of the season. Chilaka, with five, and Harris with the other two shared the Gladiators seven goals with Phillip Granville getting a late consolation goal for the home side in stoppage time.
