A 28 th minute goal from Courtney Hastings gave GEDLING MINERS WELFARE a welcome three points from their midweek game against Jenkins & Jenkins League Cup finalists CLIFTON ALL WHITES. The Whites seem to be finding league points hard to come by following their League Cup semi-final win over Belper United.
BELPER UNITED though continue to enjoy a successful season although their late season results have been mixed. They entertained ASHBY IVANHOE in midweek and looked to have made an impact to a win when Sam Vickers gave them a two goal start with goals on 10 and 35 minutes. But the Leicestershire side hit back and Sam Carline halved the deficit two minutes into the second half and then completed the come back with a penalty seven minutes from the end to take a share of the points. Over at the Town Ground ARNOLD TOWN were also involved in a come-back as they looked for their first away win of the season.
In a scrappy end-of-season game Max Thornberry had given the Lions a 15 th minute lead which Jesse Vowles doubled 17 minutes later. It looked all over bar the shouting when Oliver Pratt hit a close range third on 58 minutes. The Eagles, however, cut the lead with skipper Kurt Hallam’s free kick from the half way line which sloppy Heanor defending allowed to bounce in, and then substitute Jordan Knight scored the goal of the game with 15 minutes left. But HEANOR TOWN held out for their eighth successive win and defeat left Arnold certain to finish as wooden spoonists.
