AROUND THE COUNTIES
By STAN WILTON
The weather intervened with a vengeance this week, but it didn’t stop RADFORD moving up into a threatening third place in the table with the only midweek game to go ahead. Visiting INGLES fought back hard after going behind to goals from Ryan Smith on 15 minutes and Aboubacar Sylla on 32. Liam Laidler brought them back within touching distance on 35 minutes and Laithan Hammond completed the come-back half an hour later. But Jack Smith had the final say with the winning goal for Radford on 73 minutes.
Only two games took place on Saturday and there was indeed a shortage of goals. Only three scored in the two games in fact. It was left to Robert Paling to rescue a point for CLIPSTONE with his last minute goal after Luke Walker for visiting TEVERSAL had scored the goal which looked for a long while to have given them all three points.
A Mitchell Woodbine goal on 35 minutes secured all three points for ASHBY IVANHOE in their game at RAINWORTH MINERS WELFARE.
