Just four matches took place in midweek.
WEST BRIDGFORD saw a point go out of the window when Jack Jepson scored from the penalty spot for ten men GEDLING MINERS WELFARE in the last minute. The opening goal came inside the first five minutes from Jurgan Charlesworth before the hosts levelled through Matt Murphy’s spot kick with eleven minutes left. Luke Smith saw red for the visitors for two yellow cards.
At the Riverside BARROW TOWN came from behind to beat in form BELPER UNITED 3-1. James Rushby had put the visitors in front on 70 minutes but Joe Brown levelled six minutes later. The game looked like drifting into a draw until Sam Beaver put Barrow in front for the first time with three minutes left. Then in stoppage time Zak Ginvert for a third.
INGLES were knocked out of the Jenkins & Jenkins sponsored League Cup in their home game against CLIFTON ALL WHITES for whom Ash Way’s two late goals did the trick. Sean Woolley had missed a penalty for Ingles inside the first ten minutes and it was a miss they were later to regret as it could well have been the moment which eventually cost them progress in the competition.
There was drama too at GRAHAM STREET PRIMS where neither them not visiting TEVERSAL could find their net in their League Cup encounter. The result was that the game went into a penalty shoot-out and Teversal still couldn’t score! They went out 3-0.
